Class of ’41 Alumnus Reviews AAS Election Victors List Before Quietly Expiring

41-alumnus

DARIEN, Conn. – The Hon. L. Robert Hadley ’41 passed away in his home Tuesday after reviewing the list of students recently elected to the Amherst College student senate and Judiciary Council.  ”These aren’t names,” the former state appellate judge and avid golfer murmured softly in a tan leather easy chair before nodding off peacefully.  The former All-American running-back reportedly shook his head before reclining into his seat.  Hadley, 92, is survived by Grace (née Gardiner), wife of 63 years; sons L. Robert “Robbie” Jr. of Greenwich and Jeffery of Scarsdale, N.Y.; and thirteen grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amherst College chapter of Phi Gamma Delta.
